I don’t think being a mom means having to compromise my style but after having my son in September, I now realize how much breastfeeding can impact what I choose to wear everyday. I can only deal with so many button up shirts! Yes, I often use a cover but even then my back and sides will show if I pull up my shirt to nurse in public. This can create quite a draft and more bare skin than I’d like to show! Milk Nursing Wear is a company started by a mom that offers tops, dresses, sleepwear and bras all for the nursing mama! I haven’t worn a dress since before my son was born for the very reason that I can’t lift the entire thing up for a feeding. A nice nursing dress or two is great to invest in for a special event like a dinner party or wedding.
I was SO excited to try out a shirt made for nursing. Milk Nursing Wear kindly sent me their Chic Crossover Top in Olive.
It also comes in 4 other colors but I really love this deep green. The shirt is soft, stretchy, and the only one who knew it was a nursing top from looking at it, was me! The front panels slide over to create an easy and discreet opening for a great nursing experience. I ordered a medium (my normal size) and I have to say it was a bit roomy. I was glad though, since I just had a baby and don’t exactly want things too tight around my tummy. It is also nice and long which would work for awhile during pregnancy.
