Zerbert Baby first caught my eye with their adorable ‘Red Surfing Waterproof Bib.’ I’m always on the lookout for something unique and a little less “baby.” My husband is an avid surfer and I spent my high school years in Huntington Beach (AKA Surf City), which makes this big extra fun! It is also reversible with soft, tan, minky fabric.

I know, I know,…another bib, right? NOPE! I’ve gone through A lot of bibs recently with a teething baby who is now also eating solids. Although most of his bibs protect his clothing from getting food all over them, they still soak through and leave his onesies completely wet. I end up having to change his clothes after each meal because of this. Our new Zerbert bib has a waterproof design and prevents the wetness from leaking through.

I always like to keep a blanket in the back of my SUV for a variety of reasons including: impromptu picnics, sports games, chilly weather at the beach, or even a quick diaper change in the car. I  recently had my son’s 6 month photo shoot at a park and the grass was still soaking wet from sprinklers….so out came the blanket! The blanket I’m talking about happens to be made of soft material, and soaks right through. This isn’t ideal; especially with all of the rain we get in Seattle. I think the absolute cutest accessories for babies happen to be hats and headbands. Heidi Chandler makes both of these items with the highest care and quality. They are perfect to showcase your sweetie’s tiny little face and would also be a great photo prop for professional photos or your own little shoots.

I’ve seen a lot of hats around recently but I have to say you will not find a better selection than Comfy Cozy Boutique has to offer. I pretty much wanted the entire shop but when I came to the little Viking Hat, I about died. This could not be more perfect for my son!! We are Norwegian and I always refer to him as our little Viking.

I admit it… I have become a plastic shopping bag hoarder!! Well, not exactly but even though I get that pang of guilt when I see my fellow shoppers using their reusable, eco-friendly shopping bags,  it hasn’t stopped me. That is because I use them for EVERYTHING! Transporting food, clothes, diapers, and of course anything wet.

That is until I received my great new Itzy Ritzy Wet Bag. I only wish I had one sooner! These great wet bags can be used for just about anything. They are BPA and PVC Free and can be tossed into the washing machine for easy cleaning. I first heard about wet bags when I had my baby. It is now a staple in my diaper bag but what I really love is how useful they are for adults! Great for your gym bag to store your sweaty, stinky (ha!) clothes. I also put my swimsuit in mine after doing a few laps at the gym before heading home. It was nice to be able to keep it separate from all of my dry things, and not to have to worry about leaks.

The bags close with a secure zipper and they come in a lot of great prints. The basic black is classic and perfect for both men and women.

I think most people take pride in where they come from;  their hometown or maybe where they live today. Whether your own city has a well known sports team, an architectural icon, or you just have fond memories, there is something so cozy about fond memories and nostalgia.

I spend a lot of time in the kitchen these days! Now that I stay home with my son full time, I am responsible for making all of the meals in my house, including homemade baby food. I actually really enjoy cooking for my family, as well as entertaining a few guests for dinner, or a weekend brunch. I also like for my clothes to stay clean (well..as clean as possible with an 8 month old to chase after).

National Geographic has been a well recognized source of non-fiction information for decades. I remember looking through pictures and reading about animals from my parent’s own stash of magazines at a very early age.

Once I became a 2nd grade teacher, I really got to see how much kids love reading about true facts! They really are like little sponges, with a lot of questions about how the world works, and the creatures living among us. Books are the perfect way to learn about these things. In our school district, we actually do an entire non-fiction unit for 2nd grade and we spend a lot of time focusing on research. Although there is a lot of great literature out there, I REALLY wish I would have had a National Geographic Almanac in my classroom to feed their curiosity. This would have been perfect for their projects with the abundance of information, facts, and  over 500 photographs in full color to keep their attention! (and yours too- bet you’ll learn a few fun facts!)

I really love simple, tasteful apparel on babies and Shannon, the owner of Rascal Threads does just that! Her clothing is customized, and even hand stitched for a totally unique look. Each onesie is also made of organic cotton which is important to me for my son’s delicate little skin.

Her shop first caught my eye when I saw this onesie with a bright Norwegian flag on it. I happen to be Norwegian and I also happen to be very proud. I have looked high and low for something like this for my 8 month old son, with no luck, until now!

I received the onesie in a size 12 month so it would fit him a little longer. It fit perfectly over a long sleeve top, pretty similar to his 9 month clothing. I absolutely love the bold cloth so delicately sewn on with a cute stitched border.

This is one fun way to show off your pride and it’s not often I come across something like this. You can customize these shirts to represent any flag!!

I also really love their onesie with crocheted flowers..so feminine and pretty. I am in the midst of trying to figure out how to crochet myself right now and I can attest to the hard work.
