Disclosure: I was sent a host of goodies from Evolution Fresh.
The holidays are a hectic time of the year.
Most Americans would claim it is non-stop excitement from Thanksgiving to New Years. From holiday get-together, to holiday work parties, to shopping for the kids and hosting the in-laws! Man, the holidays are wonderful, but I just about drop-dead at the end of each holiday season!
That is why I wanted to remind you all to take some time out! Take a break from the madness, step back and breath! It is not healthy to be stressed out and on-the-go, as much as we are during the busy holiday season!
Take a Break From Holiday Stress with these Tips
1. Take Care of your Health
Days that I eat a lot of colorful food, are days that I feel better. If I am only eating mostly cookies, candy, corn chips, rice, potatoes… I tend to feel sluggish. If I stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers market or the organic aisle, I have more energy and feel lighter.
I don’t always have time for all the preparation that goes into eating fresh foods. That is why I love simple ways to get my greens, like Evolution Fresh Juices. They even have them at Starbucks! A coffee and a juice for later, please!
2. Take Care of your Soul
Essential oils, bubble baths, massages and yoga are some things that will help you relax and de-stress. These activities don’t take much time out of your busy day either! Taking just about an hour for most of these activities, and you’ll be refreshed and as good as new!
3. Take Care of your Heart
Did you know that the holiday can be on of the loneliest times of the year? When everyone is busy with friends and family, some people have nobody. This is a great time to visit a friend or neighbor who might have lost a loved one this year or doesn’t have a family nearby. Spending time with someone who needs it, is not only beneficial for them, but you too!
4. Take Care of your Mind
Some days are so busy that you feel like you can’t get away. Those are the days that it is most important to take a break! You can slow your mind from the hustle and bustle by taking a time out. Just a few moments will do! Read a chapter in a funny book, write a couple pages in a journal or draw a picture in an adult coloring book!
