Disclosure: I was sent Quicklids Silicone Suction Lids for this post.
Does it make you sick to think about how much plastic wrap you waste everyday? Me too.
It’s time to reduce and reuse with the vacuum sealed Quick Lids!
As I adapt to a healthier and more strict diet thanks to my dysfunctional gut, I now prepare meals in bulk to save time and money. It is easier for me to cook larger servings, so that I can enjoy them for the next day or two. I think when you are on a controlled diet plan (mine being low FODMAPS) this is the easiest way to stick to it.
I save my healthy leftovers in plastic containers, jars or in their original serving bowls with plastic wrap on top. So, when I was approached by Quicklids, the silicone suction lid company, I was very interested in how they worked, especially since I’d never seen anything like it before.
Quicklids reduce the need of plastic wrap, or transferring foods into storage containers. They suction right on to the serving bowl, eliminating a need for more dishes! Basically you put it over your pot or container (plastic, glass, ceramic, stainless steel) …push down gently on the center of the Quicklid, and then you get a strong tight suction.
Look, I can lift this container by the lid, and it stays strong!
Microwavable! Quicklids can handle up to 375 degrees and can be put in the microwave to avoid mess – foods splattering and overflowing.
I have been using Quicklids for a couple of weeks now, and I am loving the easy and environmentally friendly option of these reusable food lids. I really like that they have a nice seal, it is air tight! I appreciate the time I save transferring foods from container to container. It is also nice not to search for matching lids!
One thing that is a bit annoying is when the lids are too big for the container, they have a lip that sticks out, making it take up more room than needed in the refrigerator. The 3 pack is a nice selection, however, I wish there was one more Quicklid that was a individual serving (like to cover a small bowl of berries).
Overall, these are handy kitchen container lids are great for storing items in their original serving dish! Easy to use, easy to clean, they keep a tight seal, can be used in the microwave and work very well!
