Fall is in the air, and today I was feeling a little under the weather. Sometimes when the seasons change I feel like this – slightly run down, runny nose and puffy eyes. So, I thought I would get an extra Vitamin-C boost by making this Vitamin-C rich smoothie!
Not only is this smoothie packed with Vitamin-C, but by adding ginger, there are even more benefits! Ginger is calming for your tummy, muscles and fights inflammation!
Ultimate smoothie for the win!
Pineapple Ginger Smoothie
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 3 cups smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh pineapple (chunks)
- 1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp. fresh ginger (thinly grated)
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup orange juice
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve and enjoy.
This smoothie is simple and delicious. If you want to mix it up a bit – add a 1/2 of banana. You can also do canned pineapple or frozen pineapple (no need for ice then!). For a sweeter taste, add a dash of vanilla. Lot’s of possibilities. The pineapple ginger smoothie is refreshing and a perfect pick-me-up.
By the way, the straw featured in this post is the Eco At Heart Stainless Steel Straw. They are ideal for smoothies because they are extra wide. These stainless-steel jumbo straws are easy to clean (dishwasher safe and include a cleaning brush) and eco-friendly (because plastic straws aren’t reusable!)
They come in a 5-pack on Amazon – I just love them!
