YAY! I am so, so, so happy!! I got a late Valentines Day gift from Delta Faucet and my handy husband!! A Linden Single Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet!! I am SO excited about this faucet!! You are excited about a faucet, you say? Maybe I should give you a little background:
We bought our beautiful home 2 years ago, overall it’s a great home (I don’t like to complain)… BUT our appliances are the cheapest, crummiest, bottom of the line pieces of crud. Our house was a foreclosure, then bought by a contractor who semi-remodeled it and we bought it 3 months later. Soon after, our dish washer broke, our refrigerator broke and out faucet leaked. Mind you, these were ALL NEW appliances!
So, as you can imagine when I received this faucet in the mail I was BEYOND thrilled and I immediately ripped open that box… and this is what I saw:Yikes! Looked complicated (later you’ll find out it sooo wasn’t) But I was not in a DIY mood so I waited for my husband to get home. 🙂
Since I was waiting and VERY anxious, I thought I could at least clean out the junk under the sink to speed up the process for him! (It is really nasty and gross-grease jar and all!!)
Well, now I am genuinely embarrassed about my mess under the sink. But I have a new faucet now and that mess is cleaned up too! Anyway, my handy husband (who has never done this before) came home and was just as excited as I was about this faucet! He read the instructions and got right after it!
Check out the mess (above) that he found – A swirling, twisting, tangling disaster of cords from our old sink! What a giant unnecessary mess! The old faucet had TEN hose connections while our new faucet had simply FOUR. Here is the old faucet (in all of it’s complicatedness) after he took it out:
Delta Faucet beats our old faucet in 101 ways, one way is that the valves make sense! They are marked red and blue for hot and cold! Delta keeps it clear for us so there is no confusion!
Here is the hubby working hard, while I took pictures and handed him parts! The only items that he needed that weren’t in the box were a screwdriver and a wrench!
Overall, the whole process took 50 minutes (including turning off the water and taking out the old faucet – the longest part!) Just to put in the new faucet was about 20 minutes! Unbelievable! It was such a simple installation (easy for me to say, right?) and the directions were very straight forward. No really, he said it was way easier than he imagined it would be. He EVEN said I could have done it! (Although, I might take advantage of the installation video that is provided by Delta on their website.)
The Linden Kitchen Faucet works perfectly! We are so ecstatic about the multi-water flow and pressure, the different settings, the 59” long hose and the water efficiency! We couldn’t wait to wash the dishes from dinner that night! We were in faucet-loving heaven!!
I am still so in love with my sparkling chrome faucet that I had to take more pictures in the morning (see the sunrise in the window!) I also tested the faucet again this morning and there are still no issues – no leaks! This faucet feels stable and secure, whereas our previous faucet was flimsy and rickety. Such a huge improvement!
Delta Faucet makes purchasing and installing a faucet a cinch. They have so much information and multiple guides online! The site has it all and is so organized and helpful!
The Linden Single Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet retails for about $234.55 and you can purchase it by finding a retailer location or simply online at many stores such as CSN and amazon.
