I am sure you are aware of the “no call” phone list. If not, you should be! If you hate soliciting phone calls, it is a list you can put your phone number on and solicitors are not allowed to call you. Anyway… today I am not talking about pesky phone calls, I am talking about pesky junk mail that is a waste of time and space in your mailbox! I want to share with you my way to get the junk to go away!
The best part about it is there is little hassle. It is simple and quick. Ok, so here is what I do:
I open up my junk mail (credit card applications – no thanks!)
Then, I simply take the application out and write “Please remove me from mailing list” and cross out my name.
I place it back in the pre-paid envelope (“No postage necessary if mailed in the US”) that they provided!
I drop it in the mailbox at my earliest convenience. Done!
Wasn’t that easy? It is great because:
- The soliciting company has to pay for the postage and the envelope! Take that! It goes right back to them, the junk that they just sent me!
- It is better for the environment – all that junk mail is a waste of paper! Let’s reduce it!
- You save time in the end – no longer do you open and shred the junk mail!
They should have to abide to your request. Sometimes it takes a few months to reduce the junk, because they have already set up mailings for your address for future dates. But in a few months you should have a lot less junk mail!! It works for me! I hope you try this out and it works for you too!
