This past week has been a doozey. I cleaned my entire house – floor the ceiling, garage to kitchen, window to wall. It was the final week in our home, and we are now renting our first home out to a new family, and becoming landlords for the first time. When I finished scrubbing the last section of tile, changing out the last light bulb and taking out the final bag of trash, I will admit I got a little sentimental. Our first home has treated us well, but now it is time to move on!
One thing you learn when you own a home is that there are light bulbs that last, and those that don’t. When I went through the entire place changing out the dead bulbs, it was clear to me that the standard bulbs just aren’t cutting it any more. I didn’t have to change out a single energy saving bulb, they were all still going strong. We lived in the home for 5 years, and slowly the old-school bulbs had failed us. One by one our home was filled with energy efficient light bulbs. GE Light bulbs have been radiating our rooms, and filling our home with light.
These bulbs are long lasting, powerful, and petite. They aren’t bulky, and take up very little space in the storage cabinet. The best part about them though, is that they work for many, many years. Because who likes to change a light bulb? Especially yearly! Not with theses, they say 7 years is their average lifespan!
Here is a little more information about these long-lasting bulbs: The GE Reveal FLE13HT3/2/RVLCD series light bulbs.

So why are there so many jokes about changing light bulbs? (“How many blondes does it take to change a light bulb?”) – I think because changing light bulbs is truly an annoying and sometimes large task, especially if you have the short lived kind! Or if you have a lot of vaulted ceilings!
Nobody wants to do this frequently. Not me, so thank you GE Reveal light bulbs!
Oh, and in case you were wondering about our new home, here is a photo:
