From an early age, my parents taught me how important it is to invest in the future of our planet. We recycled before recycling was easily available. We loaded the truck and took our cans and paper into a recycling center each month. We also got bonus money to our allowance if we consistently turned off all of the lights we weren’t using.
Because of the way that I was raised, still to this day I do what I can to lessen my carbon footprint. I take pride in growing my own garden, recycling, reusing and even upcycling items (I’ve been known to make use of things from the garbage).
When it comes to good environmental practices, Coca-Cola is working hard to limit their impact on the environment. One way they are reducing and reusing is with their Dasani Green Bottle Cap water bottle.
Dasani’s newly designed green-capped, plant-based water bottle is composed of 30% plant materials and is still 100% recyclable.
Dasani has the environment in mind with this new bottle design. The new plant-based ingredients replaces some of the non-renewable petroleum or fossil based resources used in conventional PET plastic. It is also much lighter, in fact 45% less plastic is used to make this bottle than the original bottle produced in 2001.
PlantBottle® packaging is just the beginning of the quest that Coca Cola has planned to help the planet. Find out more on the Plant Bottle and the sustainability efforts.
