I was given GFree gluten free breads to review for this post.
The gluten free lifestyle hasn’t been as challenging as I thought it would be when I first started. It’s been over 2 years now and I feel lucky that there are many brands that make gluten free products.
I was encouraged to go gluten free from my doctors. Many people suggest having a gluten free helps with various health issues. Mine was for IBS. After just a few months of being completely gluten free, my IBS symptoms were barely there! Still to this day my IBS is better than ever. Every now and again I do have flare ups, but they don’t last as long as they did in the past. Usually they are related to stress, which is something I am trying to control – a whole other story!
Because of the benefits I have seen in my own health, I am a firm believer in the gluten free lifestyle for other people that are looking for a solution to health issues. Plus, like I said, it’s easier nowadays than ever before to be gluten free!
The latest brand I discovered is BFree. They make gluten and wheat free breads, rolls, and tortillas. They are easily accessible (I found them on display at my local Kroger – King Soopers) and the prices are awesome! They were a few dollars cheaper than comparative gluten free breads! Hallelujah!
So how do they taste? Good question.
BFree Hot Dog Buns
We made hamburgers and chicken sausages last weekend at a BBQ party. I brought along the brown seeded hot dog buns. They were really delicious, but a bit crumbly and fall apart easily when you are trying to eat the hot dog in your hand, so I ended up using a knife and fork. It was so much more satisfying than just cut up hot dog chunks. I have done that far too many times, and always feel like a 3 year old with cut up pieces of hot dog on my plate.
BFree Bread
When I talk to people who first go gluten free, they usually say they really miss sandwiches… well no more! This bread is just like the real thing – or better! I even froze one of the bread loafs and when I took it out, thawed and started using the bread, I couldn’t even tell it had been in the freezer! It did not get overly hard or stale! Another thing I love about this brand’s gluten free bread is that the slices are long! I am so used to dinky gluten free bread that is like eating a sandwich on a slightly larger cracker. This bread is perfect size for a hearty sandwich!
BFree Bagels
WOWIE! These bagels are quite the gluten free treat! I couldn’t believe my taste buds! Although I wanted to keep them all to myself, I had to share with my husband because I wanted him to verify just how good they really were. He too was impressed! They toast wonderfully – maybe a little faster than your gluten-filled bagel, so be careful of that. I am so happy to find these, my go-to now! I am not lying when I say, they really taste like a true flour bagel!
BFree Tortillas
I have really been enjoying the tortillas. I make wraps almost daily for lunch with these! They roll up really well – even with a lot of toppings inside. They taste fresh and hearty. I love that they are filled with flax seeds, brown rice, pea protein and psyllium husk. Like all their other products their wraps are also free from all listed allergens – nut free, soy free, egg free, dairy free, gluten free, wheat free… oh, and non-GMO!
BFree Rolls and BFree Pita
What a treat to have an option for pita bread! They are stone fired so they look and taste so authentic! And the rolls? The rolls are so soft and fluffy! I like to cut these in half and use them as hamburger buns. I have also used them to make sandwiches. They are so tasty!
I am really, really, really in love with GFree. They tasty so good and they don’t have any allergens and are non0GMO. What a blessing these are to those of us with sensitive tummies and allergies!
You can buy these in-store (Publix, King Soopers, Safeway, Meijer) it all depends where you live. See the store locator or shop online at GlutenFreeMall.com
