Spam comments.
They are truly hilarious, weird and sometimes even rude!
I just spent about 40 minutes deleting them from this past month alone. Instead of keeping them all to myself. I thought I would share the highlights.
This month, these are some of the best spam commenter names:
1) Dodgy Travel Tours (fun!)
2) Jerusalem’s Secrets
3) Yeast Infection (funnn!)
4) Wasssssup World!
5) Entry Level Flight Attendant Resume
6) Flight Attendant Cover Letter Example
7) Corporate Flight Attendant Resume
8) Nike Air Jordans (100x!)
9) Seduction Lyrics
10) Dotties Weight Loss Zone (I feel like I can’t trust a name like Dottie for weight loss tips. She sounds like she eats Twinkies alone at night)
PS – Touché on the Flight Attendant spammers… you know your audience!
As for their spam content, it is entertaining. Out of the 300+ spam comments, I got a few good chuckles as I was quickly browsing them… If I actually spent the time reading them all I would be doing it all day. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Although, most blog spam comments are utter non-sense. They are comprised of poor English, weird compliments about your content (that they obviously didn’t read) and ridiculous keywords like Nike, Viagra, and Google’s top recent searches.
Example Spam Bad English: “This iss my first time pay a visit at here and i am genuinely happy to read all at alone place.”
Example Spam Backhanded Compliments “You actually realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. I was surprised you’re not more popular given that you most certainly have the gift.”
Um rude. And no joke, another spammer was from a MySpace account. Those still exists?
Overall, spam comments are a blogger nemesis. They are so irritating. They take a lot of time to weed through and delete. However, sometimes I look forward to the mindless task of deleting spam comments that is comparable to watching a comedy show.
Spam can be comical entertainment.
