I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a Kohl’s gift card to facilitate my post and as a thank you for participating.
The spring styles are out now at Kohl’s! Which means, I’ve been shopping!
I spent a good amount of a day with my mother-in-law and husband pursuing the racks at Kohl’s in Parker, Colorado. We had a lot of fun, and everyone left with bags in hand! While my mother-in-law found a cute spring dress and browsed the handful of clearance racks (there was so many good deals!), my husband got more practical items like socks and boxer shorts (and some khaki pants too), as for me, I found my signature piece for spring and some accessories to go with it!
As always, I went straight for the Lauren Conrad (LC) misses section in Kohl’s. She is one of my favorite designers at Kohl’s, she creates clothing that is right up my alley – I like almost everything she makes! i find her collections are fun, cute and stylish.
So sure enough, I found my signature piece for spring from the Lauren Conrad line. I fell in love with the floral blouses – they are girly, frilly, and makes me feel like spring is in the air! They are flowy, kind of like a tunic, but not baggy or frump. To me, its a perfect spring piece.
I was excited about the potential of this shirt, and how much I would wear during spring. I also envisioned pairing it with items I already had in my closet at home. It was so versatile.
Since I love to shop, I also chose some additional pieces to go with my main spring piece, including some pants from Rock and Republic. These neutral cream colored skinny jeans are stretchy and soft, and are from another one of my favorite brands from Kohl’s. The neutral color was a safe bet, since I don’t want to out-do my staple main piece.
As for shoes, I will wear ankle boots or flats until the weather warms up a little more, and then I plan on wearing some really cute blue chain sandals I found from Sonoma. They were a steal, I wanted them in each color!
Next, I decided to take the pink flowers and make them pop with this Simply Vera Wang handbag from the same color palate to compliments the floral design. It is a big purse to carry all of my goodies, and since the sun is peaking through in spring, I’ll need an extra pair of sunglasses too. Because for some reason, I just can’t keep track of the first pair!
To bring in the waist on this loose fitting shirt, I found a set of 3 APT9 belts. Each color would give a different feel, the blue being an obvious match, but the yellow can bring attention to your waist, and the cream will allow you to add more accessories without making the look too busy. A belt can be a nice tie in to give the shirt a more together look.
Finally when, wearing accessories, you don’t want to go overboard, especially since floral is so busy as is. But when browsing the jewelry section, I found a gorgeous feminine necklace that dressed up the look, and made it more formal.
As you can see there are lots of ways to add to a signature spring piece like this floral blouse. I would wear this look to go shopping with friends, to the farmers market, or walking around downtown.
Here is a short video clip I made of my purchases from Kohl’s:
MONEY SAVING TIP: Focus on a signature piece and go from there. If you have a budget for just a single item, then get something that can pair with clothing and accessories you already own. If your budget allows you to splurge a little more, find a few items that you can make multiple combinations with!
Well, hopefully I’ve inspired you to find your own unique style for spring – and if you liked what I found for my spring look, then there’s more where that came from at Kohl’s!
