Being a blogger has many perks! I love writing posts, hearing from my readers and testing out products. Another side of blogging is being invited to seminars, webinars and web chats. Recently, I participated in the United States Potato Board web chat with The Nutrition Twins!
The The Nutrition Twins are Tammy and Elysse and they are both registered dietitians and personal trainers. During the web chat they spoke with us (fellow bloggers and me) about potatoes and the health benefits they have!
They reminded us why potatoes are “twice” as smart (potatoes have more potassium than a banana and 45% of your recommended daily value of vitamin C!) Some other neat potato facts from the web chat:
- One medium-size potato (5.3 ounces) has just 110 calories
- Potatoes are fat, sodium and cholesterol free
- On average, a potato costs 25 cents – now that’s nutrition on a budget!

The contest Runner-Up will receive a $50 VISA gift card and a signed copy of The Secret to Skinny.
Including the twice baked recipe is optional, but you are required to describe your twice baked creation with a creative photo caption. Entries will be narrowed down to the top five by a vote on Facebook and The Nutrition Twins will serve as contest judges to select the Grand Prize winner and Runner-Up.
