Valentine’s Day can be completely overrated and commercialized. I can agree with you, some things are over-the-top. But some things aren’t. Like simple gestures of showing those that you care about, that you care about them!
In college, before I was in a serious relationship, I would give my friends little "love" cards. Inside, I would tell them the things that made them great and why I loved having them as my friend! It can be so special to find a sweet note from a friend or family member for no reason at all.
So instead of thinking Valentine’s Day is just for lovers… think about showing ALL the people in your life some love! Because it doesn’t have to be all about mushy-gushy romance stuff!
I will say, I was sent some cards from Hallmark and they do a great job of showing love in many forms. Their cards are unique and easily help show family and friends just how special they are.
I was impressed with the innovations of cards these days too! These cards light up, sing, had chalk paint and more! And the graphics are better than ever! Check out some of their newest products for Valentine’s Day 2013:
o Blooming Expressions with Music: Surprise someone special with a flower that blooms to deliver messages of love and gratitude – again and again. Press the button and the Blooming Expressions plays music as the bloom opens, creating a touching and heartfelt experience!

This Valentine’s Day you should definitely consider showing your friends and family some love too. Think about all those people that have been there for you… through so much. (Oh, don’t forget about your significant other in the mean time!) Happy Valentine’s Day!
