I’ve always enjoyed jump roping, as a workout and as an activity. Since I am a frequent traveler, it is a great option for working out on-the-go.
I found the Cable Jump Rope from King Athletic, and had the opportunity to test it out.
First, the company communication is great. I received several emails after ordering this speed rope. The company wanted to make sure I got the rope and asked nicely for an Amazon review. They also sent information on how to get their e-book. Most importantly, I got an additional email about how to change the size of the rope.
HOW TO GET THE CORRECT ADJUSTMENT ON YOUR JUMP ROPE
1. Place your jump rope on the ground and stand on the midpoint of the rope
3. Grasp the handles and pull them to your chest while standing on the rope
4. The top of the handles should reach about 6 inches below the collar bone near your underarms (not as high as the collar bone or as low as the upper abs)
5. To adjust the length use the screw clamp fastener locates at the ends of the rope and cut off the excess rope at new fastener position.
Although, it is actually kind of annoying that this rope comes so standard. There isn’t a way to order your specific size. You physically have to cut it down to size. I am a woman on the short side, so I had to trim it down quite a bit. Which takes some time and effort – you have to have a screwdriver and wire cutters. It would be nice to have skipped this step all together.
The packaging was pretty pathetic, just a white box with some jumping rope techniques, which I took a picture of since I don’t plan to keep the box around. There was nothing inside telling me how to use the rope or trim it. I am glad I saved the emails showing me how! The only thing other than the rope was a barely-there mini paper (smaller than a post it note) explaining about a 100% satisfaction guarantee. It included a company email, which is always nicer than a 1-800 number!
It is nice that they offer this 5-year guarantee, but for less than $20, I don’t mess with sending items back if I don’t like them. I guess that is all just a personal thing.
I do like a few things about this jump rope. The main thing is that it is light. It barely weighs a thing which makes it ideal for travel. It also seems to be good wiring, however the handles are cheap feeling. They also were dusty right out of the box.
Overall, this jump rope feels like a made in China product, but seems to do the job as a workout speed rope.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
