I was provided women’s snow boots as a thank you for writing this article on tips for choosing winter boots.
Do you believe that women’s snow boots can be functional and fashionable too?
I know when you initially hear ‘snow boot’ you think of big, bulky boots. Well, stop right there! Not all snow boots have to by clunky. They don’t all have to be thick, bulky plastic that crush anything that gets in their way.
Snow boots have come a long way over the last few years, there are so many options for great snow boots today. So when looking for good winter boots what should you look for?
Here are my tips to help you choose the best women’s snow boot for your feet!
1. Function
The most important feature of snow boots is functionality. You want to purchase a winter boot that does a good job. And what might that job be? You want snow boots to keep your feet warm! This probably means you want to look for boots that are waterproof and have good insulation. Winter boots are bound to get wet, so let the outside of the boot repel water so your feet stay warm and dry inside!
2. Durability
A cheap boot typically means it won’t be a good boot for the long run. If you want your snow boots to last for multiple winters, make sure you invest in a good durable boot. Look for quality stitching, sealed or taped seams and strong materials. I found brands like North Face, Merrell and Propet, have never let me down.
3. Fashion
Forget plain and boring! There are all kinds of stylish winter boots out there! I am happy to say I found pages and pages of cute winter boots at FootSmart.com. Whether you are looking for boots with fur, leather or lots of straps, they’ve got them. FootSmart has a grand selection on women’s winter boots that are ankle height, tall, knee-high, thigh-high, wide, narrow … you name it! Whether you want your boots to say relaxing, tough or classic… your new pair of boots can be found amongst the large selection of boots at FootSmart!
4. Materials
The materials are essential in a good winter boot. Not only do you want something that is waterproof, you also want the material to not be too weight baring. Have you ever worn such heavy shoes you could barely walk? It’s miserable. Focus on a light-weight material that still compares to the big bulky kind. Make sure it is breathable, like leather or nylon!
Not only do you want to focus on the material of shoe, you also want to consider the sole and the tread. The sole needs to be 100% waterproof, such as rubber. And if you don’t have good tread, you just might slip on patches of snow and ice!
5. Affordability
While I did mention above that you don’t want to get too cheap of boots, you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune either. In my experience, I’ve found long lasting boots range from $80-$200. Beware – price doesn’t always determine quality either! It is important to know what to look for – materials, durability and more. You just have to take in to consideration all of the factors above, and make sure the boot is worth it!

My review of Merrell Winter Boots from FootSmart
My new snow boots from FootSmart fit all the requirements for boots! I have the Decora Chant WP Calf (J48428) boots from Merrell. Some of the features of this boot are M- Select Dry Waterproof lining, M- Select Grip sole for traction, M- Select warm Insulation, M-select Move FootFrame and Full-Grain Leather and Suede. They are waterproof, comfortable, and I love the way they look on! I have been wearing them up at our cabin, in the snow and dirt, and they just brush the elements right off! I was a little nervous about the color of them, worried they would get instantly dirty, but they are barely showing any color change!
I think these boots have great height for keeping the snow out of my boot. I can wear them with nearly any winter outfit, I just throw on a scarf and a jacket and I am all set. The white and the furry brown lining is so plush and just feels heavenly. These cute waterproof boots are great when it is cold outside, in the snow, slush or rain! These white snow boots are cozy, functional and fashionable! See, I told you that you can have it all in winter boots!
