My husband hated the old recycle bin. Ok, I did too. It couldn’t fit more than 2 newspapers in it! I swear it was just slightly bigger than a shoe box. We lined the old bin with plastic shopping bags, but even the plastic bags were bigger than the trash bin! Not to mention, we hardly had them on hand anymore since we’ve been using re-usable shopping totes. {props to us for saving the earth!}
Anyway, we found a great new solution for all of our recyclables… Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler!
The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler is a convenient storage bin that is designed to keep your recyclables out of sight! It gets the recyclables off the countertops and clears floor space of clutter by attaching to the inside of a cabinet door! And it has a leak-proof liner so no plastic bag liners are needed!
The features of the Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler include:
- Easy attachment to a cabinet door with hooks or screws (both included)
- Hinged lid that keeps the bag tidy and closed off
- A convenient and sturdy carrying handle allows the bag to easily be transported
- A 5 gallon bag that holds up to 36 cans and is wide enough to fit a milk jug and more.
- A built in leak-proof liner that is machine washable
- The resin bag is soft-sided, allowing for flexibility inside any cabinet
- The bag and all packaging is made from 65% post-consumer material, it’s recyclable too!
My Take on Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler:
- We took the contents out of the packaging, and found we had all (but a screwdriver) that we needed to set up the recycler . We first tried to use the hooks over the door to hang the bag under our sink. The hooks positioned the bag a little too low for a perfect fit. No problem though, because there were screws included, just for that problem.
- After an easy install process, we stepped back and admired the bag. The bag looked really sleek on the inside of our cabinet. It is a much, much, much better solution than keeping recyclables out on the counter or in our previous tiny recycle box. The bag fits nicely, and still allows for plenty of space under the sink! We are pleasantly surprised in the quality of this flexible bag, as well as how roomy it is!
