OFF!® Clip-On™ Repellent–Because Mosquitos Suck

I love having a garden. In fact, it has become one of my favorite hobbies. One thing I am slowly learning about having a garden? You can’t be afraid of bees, and you will get bit by mosquitos… or will you?

While there is nothing I can do about the bees swarming around my flowers and plants (and of course I want them for pollination – woot woot) there IS something I can do about the pesky skeeters. Bug spray, candles, lotions or a new clip-on product from OFF!

SC Johnson just developed a new bug repellent product – OFF!^® Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent to help keep away mosquitos. It is a repellent that doesn’t have to be applied directly to skin. It is a battery powered fan that circulates an odorless repellent which can be worn or placed on your purse, belt, chair or table. The device creates head-to-toe protection within minutes, for up to 12 hours.

My Opinion on the OFF!^® Clip-On™

I gave the OFF! Clip-On the ultimate test – my garden! You see, it doesn’t matter if it is peak mosquito hours, dusk/dawn or if there are no sitting pools of water around…I ALWAYS get bit!

So I set up the OFF! Clip-On. (Just insert the refill into the unit, check the batteries and clip on.) Then I headed out to the garden. The instructions say to allow a few minutes to build a protection around you. (I envision a mosquito shield of sorts) Once the wait was over, I went on picking tomatoes, cucumber and green beans. I was in shorts and a tank top with my entire body in the plants – maneuvering in and out to pick the veggies. I was outside for about thirty minutes before I returned.

As I washed the veggies inside, I waited for the itching to begin. Nope. Then I continued on with my day, and waited some more. Surely, there is a least one fresh bite that hasn’t begun itching yet. Nope.

Wow. I was impressed. This bizarre mosquito clip-on gadget really worked. And there was no spray or lotion involved! No contaminated air, skin or eyes! It is completely non-irritating and simple to use! It is a bit bulky and odd, but a great alternative to nasty chemical sprays! It gets two thumbs up from me.
