You may remember that we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to review two of flipflop wines’ most delicious whites a few weeks back… well you can imagine our surprise and happiness when they contacted us to let us know that they would like for us to review their reds (our favorite type)!! Flipflop sent over the three reds that they make, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot, and our number-one, a Pinot Noir!
Now my husband and I can usually find any excuse to drink some red wine 🙂 … often times we’re lucky if the bottle actually makes it to the dinner table! We knew, however, based on the quality of flipflops wines that we needed to savor these with a nice dinner! We decided to try out a new pork tenderloin recipe with the Pinot Noir and we could. not. have. been. happier! This is a wonderfully delicious wine… we had a great time tasting this wine together… I even asked my husband if he could pick out the notes in the wine and he was easily able to point out this Pinot’s cherry hints! It really is delicious… Not too dry and has some light spice to it with a superior velvety finish. We have decided that this will be our go-to wine from here on out. We love Pinot’s and couldn’t be happier with this one… it really is something you have to taste to believe. So good… and it fits well within our budget ($7)!!
The Cabernet Sauvignon is a very tasty and full bodied wine that seems to have a complex set of favors with a very nice long finish to it. My husband loved how dry this wine was and loved trying it out with ribeye steaks fresh off the grill! If you like Cab’s you’ll definitely love this one. The hints of blackberries are just about perfect and really make me miss the blackberry picking we used to do back in Washington! You’ll definitely notice the berry aroma’s and taste. I would suggest you give it a try, especially if you’re a Cabernet Sauvignon fan!
Also neat, you should check out and run through a "virtual tasting" on YouTube with David Georges.
Now Merlot, historically, has not been our most favoritests of wines but this one is darn tasty. Its soft tannins with fruity plum and an almost chocolatey hint really pairs well with a variety of foods… or after dinner all by itself! I liked this one because it was silkier and not nearly as full bodied as previous Merlots I’ve tried. I definitely will NOT pass this one up for the next dinner party we have!!
All of these wines are VERY reasonable and can be purchased online! We can speak directly to their fast shipping and incredibly reliable packaging. I can assure you that these wines will get to your door step safe and sound… just make sure you have someone over 21 there to sign for them! ;) You should for sure give them a try online (definitely recommended)!!
Again we must speak to the good work that the folks over at flipflop wines are doing… not only are they making super fantastic wine but they’re also really working hard to do good in the world which is something we, as consumers, should look for in a company. David Georges and flipflop wines are an active part of a non-profit charity called Soles4Souls… This is an organization that is working to get shoes on the feet of the world’s children! They’ve distributed over 14 MILLION pairs of shoes already and need help getting more out there! That’s where you and flipflop wines come in! "For every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need." Good wine and a great charity… it can’t be beat!
