Mr Beams sent me outdoor motion sensor lights for review purposes.
Last year, we moved into a brand new home! We love our home, but underestimated the number of projects that a new build needs! We landscaped our backyard, put ceiling fans in, planted flowers and bushes, set up garden planters, painted a couple of rooms… and there is still so much more to do!
One thing we had on our (very long) to-do home list was to install motion sensor lights on the sides of our house. Our home came with lights on the front and back porches, but nothing on the sides.
We wanted to get some outdoor motion sensor lights for security purposes since the side fence has an entrance and there are plenty of ground level windows… and because it was hard to see at night!
We did some research on LED motion sensor lights and found that Mr. Beams was a very popular sensor light company and had highly rated products. We had seen Mr. Beams in a couple of local big box stores but decided to reach out to them on Mr. Beams website and get them shipped directly to our door. They had what we were looking for – and more!
“Let there be light!”
That’s what I think now every time I walk around the corner of my house to take out the garbage or empty our compost bin… all thanks to Mr. Beams! We no longer trip on dog toys while walking in the dark when we take out our trash!
Once our Mr Beams® UltraBright LED Wireless Motion Sensor Spotlight showed up, it was a snap to unbox, install the batteries (not included) and mount it on the side of the house! We had previously looked at a couple of power sources for other brands including wired, solar, and battery and decided that battery powered motion lights were the clear winner.
Wiring a light is too much work and I assume requires hefty work on the house and electrical system. As for solar, it doesn’t work so well indoors or under an overhang. Therefore batteries are perfect – especially with the low power usage of LEDs these days! A few D cell batteries, a ladder, and a couple of screws and we were in business!
Mr Beams spotlight system allowed us to install something that was motion detected – instead of something that was always on, (which would inevitably annoy our neighbors at night – since we live in pretty close quarters – the light would be in their windows too!).
These sensitive motion-senor spotlights now illuminate our path to our bins and light up the side entrance to our house!
