I am really excited about discovering “Banana Ice Cream”.
Yes those quotations are purposeful. That is because this “ice cream” is paleo, clean, non-dairy, casein-free, homemade, raw, vegan, vegetarian, all-natural… you get the point.
It’s easy to make this faux ice cream!
Ingredients: 1 sliced, peeled frozen banana, 2 tablespoons peanut or other nut butter, 2 tablespoons cacao powder, 1/4 teaspoon sea salt and 1/3 cup water.
Instructions: Add all ingredients into a good blender or food processor. (Tip: The smaller the banana chunks, the easier on the blender. Might need to go slow and use a wooden spoon.) Blend until smooth – should be the texture of soft serve ice cream. Serves 1-2.
If you are feeling extra fun, try some of these mixes, and experiment!
Extras: How about using… protein powder, shredded coconut, pecans, coconut milk, vanilla almond milk, nutella, a handful of raw almonds or peanuts, ground cinnamon, chocolate chips, toffee, caramel, or chocolate caramel sauce.
I used Freedom Superfoods Pure Raw Cacao Powder, which I found on Amazon.com
