I am blessed beyond words. I don’t know what I did to deserve this beautiful life that I have, but it makes me tear up just thinking about how lucky I am. I have a husband who loves me, a family who would do anything for me, friends that care about me and a dog that thinks I am the whole wide world.
I am a nice person, a hard worker and generally thoughtful of other people, but I still don’t know why I have been so incredibly blessed. It is beyond me, I know that, so I thank the Lord everyday for everything I’ve been given and everyone in my life.
There are so many people in my life, that make my life easier, happier, and more fun! I need to remind myself to thanks these people on a more frequent basis. Like my in-laws, who are always willing to let us borrow anything that we don’t have, or can’t afford. Cars, trailers, camping gear, kitchen tools… they don’t even hesitate when showing their generosity.
Whether it is someone you see everyday, a family member, friend or co-worker… or maybe the cashier at your favorite grocery store. There are people in everyone’s life that make life a little better. I know it canbe hard to be thankful and practice gratitude, but here are a few ideas of how to show gratitude.
HOW TO BE GRATEFUL & SHOW GRATITUDE
❀ Write and send a genuine thank you card, handmade or store bought.
❀ Spend the day, giving a sincere thank you to everyone who does anything nice for you that day.
❀ Scribble down 5 things you are grateful for.
❀ Scribble down 5 people you are grateful for, and why.
❀ In honor of National Gratitude Day, send out a gourmet gift basket from 1-800-BASKETS.COM.
❀ Speak positive words all day, no negative words.
❀ Volunteer, because helping others, is the quickest way to be grateful for what you have.
❀ Go for a "Gratitude Walk" where you focus on gratitude the entire time.
You can do any of the above tips to show gratitude all year. And an easy day to start showing gratitude is September 19th, National Gratitude Day. I really like the idea of sending a gift on this day, because it is an extra special day for thankfulness. Anyone will feel appreciated when they receive a "Thank You" basket sent by you. You can even write an upbeat note on the card that goes with the basket when it is ordered from 1-800-Baskets.com. There are a number of baskets to brighten someone’s day, one of my favorites being the "Thank You" basket which includes treats like: Godiva® Milk Chocolate Cocoa, Carousel® Red Delicious Apple Caramels and DeBeukelaer® Pirouline® Wafer Rolls.
I encourage you to be grateful, paying it forward, and be thankful for the people and things in your life. Oh, and readers, one more thing… I am thankful for you – you brighten my day, everyday!
