There’s nothing like a home-baked cookie. Although I love to bake, I don’t always have the time, and trying to find a cookie in my local grocery store that resembles anything homemade is next to impossible. I love to have a batch of cookies on hand for guests, or for my own afternoon enjoyment with a hot cup of tea.
Tate’s Bake Shop is an adorable little shop located in Southampton that has expanded their delectable baked goods to beyond their store. They will actually ship their goodies to your front door! I received a package of their Assorted Cookies and Cookbook and I couldn’t be happier. The cookie selection included: chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, and oatmeal raisin. My mom was actually over when they were delivered and I knew she would make the perfect taste tester. She is an amazing baker and has made birthday cakes, wedding cakes, cookies, bars, and treats of all kinds for as long as I can remember. After opening the incredibly cute packaging, we first noticed the distinctively homemade appeal to these cookies. They look fresh off a baking sheet… thin, crispy, and golden brown around the edges. DELICIOUS!!! Each kind absolutely bursts with flavor and crunch. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I really love the classic chocolate chip.
My mom wanted to look through the Tate’s Bake Shop catalog to see what else they offered. We were both super impressed! Not only is the selection mouth-watering, but the prices are super reasonable. I really love their bright and colorful packaging which would make giving their products a really special treat.
As I mentioned before, I love to bake and was anxious to try out my new cook book! I decided to make their ‘Rasberry Squares’ to bring as my contribution for Easter Dinner. They were an absolute hit! I sometimes find myself baking the same ‘safe’ recipes because I know they’ll turn out and be well liked but I was happy to break out of that rut and try something new. I love the simple tips included that make all the difference such as using whole almonds and chopping them myself (tastes so much more fresh!) and making sure to use high quality rasberry jam. I can’t wait to try out some more recipes, especially their cookies!
