Actually, IT IS what’s for dinner!
It is not rare (or medium rare) to see beef on the dinner plates in our household. We cook beef in a number of ways, a few times a week all year round. We grill, bake, sauté beef… and one of our favorite ways to enjoy Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. is with friends!
We love cooking up ribs, steaks, and burgers for our friends. We love being hosts and treating our friends to a delicious meal. (I hate to brag, but my husband is a pro at cooking a perfect steak!) Well, this time was no exception! My husband made some mouth-water burgers for our friends using some ground beef, seasonings and veggies from the garden. This recipe is now a new home favorite!
For our “Summer Grilliance” Party he came up with the recipe:
Best Backyard Barbeque Burgers
Ingredients
1 lb Quality Ground Beef
1/2 Medium Onion, Diced
2-3 Jalapeños, Diced
1/2 Cup BBQ Sauce (Stubbs Spicy)
1 Cup Finely Grated Cheese
4 Tbsp Emeril’s Bam Burger Seasoning
1-2 Tbsp Tabasco Hot Pepper Sauce
1 Egg
1/2 lb Bacon
ToothpicksDirections
- Combine the beef, onion, jalapeños, bbq sauce, cheese, seasoning, hot pepper sauce, and egg in a mixing bowl. Blend together with your hands!
- Form into patties. (Makes about 4-6 medium patties). Wash hands.
- Wrap uncooked bacon around the outside edge of burgers and skewer with a well placed toothpick (or two) to hold the bacon in place.
- Grill over medium-high heat to desired doneness. Use a thermometer!
- Don’t smoosh the burgers down with a spatula (that lets the juices out.)
- Place on plate and cover with foil until you’re ready to serve.
- Top with your favorite fixins… and enjoy!
**Some of our favorite fixins: More bacon and grilled jalapeños. Sliced onions. Cheddar cheese. Crisp lettuce. Ripe tomatoes. Tangy pickles. Delicious avocados. Really anything you want that sounds good to you on your burger… some people like peanut butter on their burgers, but we wouldn’t recommend it – as this patty’s got a bit of a zip to it!
Beyond this delicious main dish, we made baked green beans fresh from the garden, kale chips and had home brewed ice tea! We love making up our own recipes, but if you are more of a recipe follower, you can find recipes by visiting www.beefitswhatsfordinner.com. The have some great recipes, tips and party ideas.
